Zoos Are Great
Zoos are great places for many different kinds of animals. If you live in Colorado I have 1 suggestion of a zoo that you HAVE to go to sooner or later. It is called the Cheyenne Mountain zoo. It is located in Colorado Springs. I went there with my school and it was so amazing. There are animals you get to touch and get to hold. Also, once you step in after you have paid you can donate a money to the endangered animals. I hope you will notice all the endangered animals in the zoo that we could all save together.Zoos are places where wild animals are kept for public display. Zoos are often the sites of sophisticated breeding centers, where endangered species may be protected and studied. Some zoos, like this aquarium in Monterey, California, are dedicated to one species or set of species. (Aquariums are dedicated to the display of aquatic creatures.)Zoos often take precautions to accommodate animals that cannot survive in a non-native climate. This zoo in Bulgaria, for instance, uses a heat lamp to keep their collection of meerkats comfortable. Meerkats are native to the African savanna, while Bulgaria has a more temperate climate, which includes cold winters. Bulgarian zoos must keep animals like meerkats in small, warm enclosures. The Philadelphia Zoo was the nation's first zoological park, and continues to operate as a scientific and cultural center today. Many urban zoos face difficulty expanding or updating their facilities. There is little room for urban zoos to expand, and zoo buildings are often landmarks that are difficult to redesign or update.
Endangered Animals
Pandas Blue Whale
Polar Bears Sea Lions
White Rhino Sei Whale
Javan Rhino Bengal Tiger
Giraffes Asian Elephants
Zebras Amur Tiger
Leopards Black Rhino
Snow Leopards Amur Leopards
African Elephant Sumatran Elephant
There are many more, I did not even list half of them. There are so many and we need to save them before they become like the Wooly Mammoth and the Dodo Bird and so many more animals that are gone forever. Don't let some of our animals be gone forever.

Kinds of Zoos
Safari parks are a popular type of zoo where visitors drive their own cars to see wildlife living in large, enclosed areas. These attractions allow the animals more space than the small enclosures of traditional zoos.
Another type of zoo, popular in Africa, is the game reserve. Game reserves are large swaths of land where the native species are protected in their natural habitat.
Petting zoos feature domesticated animals that are gentle enough for children to pet and feed. Sheep, goats, donkeys, and rabbits are common petting zoo animals. Lemurs, wild primates native to Madagascar, are not found in most petting zoos. As wild animals, they are dangerous to interact with and may pose health problems as well as physical threats.

Auroch
Aurochs were nearly as big as elephants and had splendid long horns. They were the great grandparents of today's cattle. Once, large herds roamed what is now Europe and Asia. But, they were hunted for food and their fantastic horns. When only a few were left , the aurochs were protected by guards .But, hunters managed to raid this herd too. The last auroch died in 1627, leaving only the cave paintings as memories. This picture is not a real auroch. Sadly they are extinct.
This is a replica of the extinct DoDo bird.

Elephant Bird
Imagine a bird much like a ostrich that is as big as an elephant. This extinct bird has eggs that could fit 2 gallons of milk inside of them. They roamed all of Madagascar. Then the humans came along and hunted them for food and to make money off of their feathers. The climate changed and then they all were gone. But, we will always remember.
